The circus continues! So far, 2 casseroles and the baking turkey are prepped and ready for the oven. My Executive Sous Chef has prepped the spiced pumpkin soup and has baked the rolls. What remains are a ham, another casserole and stuffing, the baked brie and gougeres….and of course the fried turkey.
It’s sunny out today, but still a bit chilly. I’m still debating whether or not we will dine on the terrace or indoors…decisions decisions. Luckily I emailed my guests and told the of the possibility of eating outside. They will arrive wearing comfy sweaters!
My family back in the States seemed to enjoy a small but good Thanksgiving – just my two sisters and mom and dad. I told my mom the final headcount and she nearly fainted! It’s official, I’m insane! She did manage to give me a few last minute and MUCH NEEDED cooking tips. Now, due to the time difference, the window of opportunity for any more advice has now closed. I’m officially flying solo in the kitchen

A dear friend called me this morning to say that her new passport with multiple entry visas just arrived. Full of excitement (and expectations) she’ll be crossing the border from Syria into Lebanon in a couple of hours for the feast. Two other friends from Amman will arrive later today. Another great friend just arrived late last night from Geneva. This is a true international dinner!
I am completely humbled. For me, this is the ultimate feast of the year. There’s no better way to celebrate good food and good wine than with a group of amazing people. The evening will be full of laughter and cheer. The idea of this warms my heart.
Now, back to the kitchen to warm up that oven! Almost done!
